The London Development Agency (LDA) is one of nine English Regional Development Agencies (RDAs).
All RDAs are funded by Central Government. The LDA's sponsoring department is the Department of Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (DBERR) which also approves the Agency's targets.
The LDA also has close ties to several other government departments, including the Communities and Local Government, Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), the Department for Children, Schools and the Families and the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS).
The LDA works within a unique constitutional context in comparison to the other RDAs. In addition to working with Central Government, as part of the GLA Group it also reports to an elected London Mayor.
The LDA is responsible for developing and delivering the Mayor's Economic Development Strategy. The Mayor approves the LDA's Corporate Plan and performance targets.
