Our responsible workplace

Our building and facilities

Palestra  Our building, Palestra, was rated by Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) as "Very Good".

We operate a renewable energy system consisting of photovoltaic cells and will shortly be introducing wind turbines on the roof. On average, 2.9% of all our current electricity usage is renewable. The project is funded by the London Climate Change Agency.

Recycling

Our no bin policy encourages staff to use one of the multiple recycling points in the building. All staff have their own desk top recycling box. We provide facilities to recycle paper, card, plastic, cans and bottles. Batteries, toner cartridges, CDs, mobile phones and electrical equipment are disposed of through recycling companies. All our stationary and paper is fully recycled.

Responsible Procurement

We adhere to The Mayor of London's Responsible Procurement Policy. The policy promotes the purchase of goods, work and services that are socially and environmentally responsible. This includes promoting greater environmental sustainability, ethical sourcing practices and encouraging a diverse base of suppliers.

We also follow and help fund the Mayor's Green Procurement Code which helps London based organisations commit to reducing their environmental impact through responsible purchasing.

Health and safety

Personal safety training is offered to individuals that are required to carry out external project visits. In addition we also use an occupational health provider for specialist referral treatment.

Each individual is assessed and reasonable adjustments made so that everyone's desk space fit’s their individual requirements. The Health and Safety Team have regular meetings with the Fire Marshals, First Aiders, Facilities Management Team, Green Office Group and Human Resources.
