Sustainability, for the London Development Agency (LDA), is about the long-term economic, environmental and social implications of the way we work.
The LDA plays an important role in delivering against the Mayor's priority of tackling climate change.
Our Health and Sustainability Advisory Group has been established to make strategic recommendations concerning the integration of health and sustainability development into LDA programmes and projects.
We have been involved in monitoring the sustainability of two major schemes for London, the Thames Gateway and the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
We also worked with the Park Royal Partnership to agree to a code of socially responsible business practices. We have delivered green and public space through our regeneration projects at Thames Barrier Park and Mile End Park.
We provide strategic leadership in a number of other areas of sustainability work, including London Energy Partnership, the London Hydrogen Partnership, the London Renewables Group, and the Sustainable Business Group. We have worked with partner organisations in a fuel poverty alleviation project, the HeatStreets initiative.
In addition to this, we developed the Design for Biodiversity Guide with English Nature and the GLA.
