Minority Ethnic Community

Minority ethnic community describes an ethnic group that is numerically smaller than the predominant white group in Britain. This includes groups distinguished by colour, as well as Irish, Turkish, Cypriot, Kurdish, travelling people, Jewish and Sikh (the latter two categories being defined as faiths in the 2001 Census).
