£80,000 Cash Boost for West London Partnership Body

8 May 2001

An extra £80,000 is to be pumped into West London thanks to a cash injection from the London Development Agency (LDA).

The money will go to a partnership made up of West London Inward, West London Chamber of Commerce, West London Leadership, West London Alliance and the local councils for voluntary service.

The money will increase the partnership's ability to deliver jobs and training projects and programmes aimed at boosting the local economy by enabling it to improve co-ordination between the various West London bodies.

It will also enable local voluntary and community groups and black and ethnic minority businesses to play a full part in the partnership. The funding forms part of a package designed to support partnerships that are working at "sub-regional" level.

"Every part of London is different, with its own particular needs," says LDA chief executive Michael Ward. "We want to ensure that there are effective partnerships working together across the community in West London to bring people together to discuss important issues and work with us for the overall economic development of London. This financial support is an important part of that process."
