Bioscience Account Managers

It has been identified by CATALYST (London's Science and Industry Council) and the London Development Agency (LDA) that one of the barriers to the growth of the life science sector in London is the combined complexity of London and the various national and regional government support initiatives.

It is the critical mass of London's life science sector, one of the largest regional clusters in the world including its numerous leading universities, medical schools, companies, investors, financial services and professional advisors that renders London one of the most vibrant life science locations.

It is the same critical mass that makes London's sector somewhat harder to navigate than its smaller counterpart clusters. To address this, the LDA is funding a Bioscience account managers programme for London.

Two Bioscience Key Account Managers have been recruited by the London Biotechnology Network and their role will be to develop a knowledge base of the expertise and key contacts available in London as well as a route map to the available business support initiatives in order to assist client companies in meeting their needs.

The Key Account Managers will work with client companies to understand what it is they seek, whether this is collaborative partners on technology, premises, financial support or other services. With an agreed understanding, the Key Account Manager will then introduce the clients to the most relevant contacts and offer on-going support with the aim of enabling the client company to grow and invest in London’s life science sector.
