The Snapshot is an annual publication, with a six-month update, which gives an overview of the progress made in delivering the objectives of the Economic Development Strategy (EDS), "Sustaining Success".
As well as formally outlining London's progress against each EDS objective, the Snapshot aims to provide a means to check the priorities for London's economic development and to act as a catalyst for economic development activities across London where appropriate.
The mid-year update Snapshot (7) published in July 2008 highlights that whilst London's employment rate remains well below that for the UK as a whole, the gap between the two has been decreasing recently.
With London's economy forecast to grow quite slowly over the next couple of years (when compared to the recent past), this recent relative improvement in London's employment rate is likely to be difficult to sustain.
