Funding and grants

The London Development Agency commissions both public and private sector organisations to deliver projects and programmes on our behalf through grants and funding agreements.

These programmes all fall under one of our six investment themes: International Promotion, Business Support, Sustained Employment, Climate Change, Regeneration, and Olympic Legacy.

All funding is conducted through a competitive tendering process.

The LDA is also committed to using CompeteFor, a free service that enables businesses to compete for contract opportunities linked to the London 2012 Games and other major public and private sector buying organisations.

You can search for all grants available in London (from all organisations) using the GRANTnet service.

Grants awarded by the LDA

The London Development Agency (LDA) is committed to public disclosure, transparency and accountable government.

All of the London Development Agency's grants and contracts are posted on the London Contracts Register in line with most local authories in the Greater London area. You can search the register by organisation or by catergory.

European Structural Funds

Working on behalf of the Mayor of London, the European Programmes Management Unit (EPMU) at the London Development Agency (LDA) is responsible for the administration of the 2007–2013 Structural Funds Programmes. This consists of:

  • The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) supports regional development through actions such as business innovation and support and regeneration.

  • The European Social Fund (ESF) was set up to improve employment opportunities in the EU, and it aims to help people fulfill their potential by giving them better skills and better jobs prospects.
