What is CompeteFor?

CompeteFor is a groundbreaking website that allows any business to compete for opportunities linked to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and other major public and private sector organisations. It acts as a free brokerage service between potential suppliers and buyers throughout the supply chain.

CompeteFor encourages transparency of, and equality of access to, a wide range of opportunities that businesses may otherwise not have been aware of. It also facilitates access to focused business support, through the national Business Link network in England and similar services in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, helping to boost the long–term competitiveness of your business.

Endorsed and supported by London 2012, CompeteFor is targeting around 20% of the contracts in the London 2012 supply chain.

How does CompeteFor work?

1. Visit CompeteFor.
2. Register basic details of your business to create a user account. This will allow you to view opportunities and gain access to relevant business news and events in your region.
3. Complete and publish a full business profile. This only needs to be done once and will be used to automatically match your business with contract opportunities, which you can then respond to.
4. You can also search for suitable opportunities and other businesses to partner with.

As well as giving businesses access to these opportunities, CompeteFor also provides access to business support services. More information about some of the support services offered is available on the Business Link London website.

The London Business Network runs regular events and workshops in the capital, focussing on London 2012 business opportunities. It also works with its partners on joint initiatives, providing expertise to their existing Games programmes in the lead up to 2012.
