London's visitor economy is currently facing both great challenges and opportunities. Setting out a clear and coordinated direction for the city tourism industry is more important than ever.
The LDA launched the London Tourism Action Plan 2009-2013 on 13 August 2009, following a two month consultation with the capital's tourism industry earlier in the year.
The Action Plan is based on the areas and priorities set out in the London Tourism Vision 2006 to 2016.
The objectives of the Action Plan are to:
"By 2016, London will be recognised as the leading global city for tourism and as a constantly evolving destination.
London will deliver a high quality visitor experience, continually surprising and exciting our visitors with a vibrant, contemporary, diverse offer in an historically rich environment.
Tourism in London will contribute to the economic success of the city and the quality of life for Londoners."
