We are proud to announce the launch of the 2010 London European Social Fund (ESF) Awards, following the successful launch of the inaugural awards last year.

We are delighted that the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, is able to join us at this year’s event, which will be held at City Hall on Monday 8 November 2010.

If your organisation is funded by the 2007-13 London ESF Programme, seize this opportunity by submitting your nomination to showcase and get recognition for the positive work being done to improve the lives of Londoners.

Categories

The Awards will showcase the talents, skills and employment-related achievements of individuals and organisations benefiting from ESF across London. The 7 award categories are:

  • Young Learner / Participant of the Year (14-19 years)

  • Adult Learner/ Participant of the Year (20+ years)

  • Outstanding Achiever of the Year

  • Progression onto an Apprenticeship

  • Outstanding Mentor / Tutor /Employment Advisor of the Year

  • Employer of the Year

  • Community Grants Organisation of the Year

To submit your nomination, please download the nominee application and diversity monitoring form and either send it by email to londonesfawards@lda.gov.uk or by post to:

The closing date for nominations is 24 September 2010 at 5pm. We regret that we will not be able to accept any entries received after this deadline.

Questions relating to the application process can be sent to the following dedicated email address londonesfawards-FAQs@lda.gov.uk. Any questions received after the deadline will not be answered.

Selection

An independent Regional Judging Panel will be convened between 1 October and 15 October 2010. There will be up to three finalists per award and the winner will be announced on the day. Winners will receive a trophy.

The London ESF Awards 2010 is a joint initiative between the London Development Agency’s European Programmes Management Unit who manage ESF in London, the Greater London Authority and the five London ‘co-financing’ organisations that fund ESF projects: the Department for Work and Pensions, Skills Funding Agency, London Councils, the London Development Agency and the National Offender Management Service.
