Our partners
The successful delivery of much of our work depends on the relationships we build with stakeholders across London.
Among our partners are the 33 London boroughs, sub-regional partnerships and numerous government departments, as well as a broad range of key partners from the voluntary, community, public and private sectors.
Together we work to identify economic development needs and opportunities and to plan, procure and deliver effective projects to support our priorities. The successful delivery of much of our work depends on the relationships we build with stakeholders across London, providing strategic leadership in exchange for expert knowledge
By continually establishing new partnerships and mobilising the support and resources of all our stakeholders, we are providing leadership in economic regeneration and actively engaging London’s communities in developing their own economic legacy.
Central Government
We are one of the nine Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) operating across England, all of whom are funded by central Government. Although the London Development Agency (LDA) is sponsored by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS), we have close ties to several other government departments.
These include the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), and the Department for Education.
GLA Group
The London Development Agency (LDA) works within a unique constitutional context in comparison to the other RDAs. In addition to working with Central Government, as part of the GLA Group it also reports to an elected London Mayor. The LDA is one of four 'functional bodies' accountable to the Mayor of London which form the Greater London Authority (GLA) Group.
The GLA Group includes:
- Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA)
- London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (LFEPA)
- Transport for London (TfL)
- London Development Agency (LDA)
The LDA is responsible for developing and delivering the Mayor's Economic Development Strategy. The Mayor approves the LDA's Investment Strategy and performance targets.
London Boroughs
The LDA has a strong focus on engaging with local authorities at a senior level in order to liaise effectively on the development of its strategic direction and the delivery of programmes. There is constant dialogues between LDA Group Directors and local authority Chief Executive Officers to look at how we can can join efforts and co-ordinate strategic interventions to maximize the benefit created within local areas.
